DAN RICHARDSON
CANDIDATE for HENRY COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD DISTRICT 2
- WHY I'M RUNNING

I’m running for the Henry County Board of Education, District 2 because our students deserve strong governance, safe schools, and real opportunities to succeed. As a U.S. Army veteran, former senior manager at GE Capital/Synchrony, immediate past Chair of the Henry County Board of Elections, and a classroom facilitator with Gwinnett County Juvenile Justice, I’ve seen firsthand how leadership, accountability, and early intervention can change lives.

Henry County is growing rapidly, and our schools are feeling the pressure. Families want transparency, responsible planning, and a clear vision for the future. I’m stepping forward because I believe we can do better and because every child deserves a safe, supportive, and future-ready education.

I’m running to strengthen partnerships with our County and Cities, improve school safety and parental involvement, support our teachers, and prepare students with real-world skills like financial literacy, decision-making, and academic-athletic pathways that open doors to scholarships and opportunity.

This campaign is about putting students first, supporting educators, and ensuring Henry County Schools are prepared for the challenges and opportunities ahead. I’m ready to put in the work for our kids, our families, and our community.
